A focused assessment of finance controls before year-end — walkthroughs, sampling of key controls, and a ranked remediation list.

Spreadsheet printouts and calculator arranged for control testing

Who this engagement serves

Controllers and finance managers preparing for a first external audit, a bank covenant review, or a year when systems or staff have changed.

What you receive

A written readiness memo with control gaps ranked by year-end impact, suggested owners, and a practical timeline before the audit kickoff.

Scope and boundaries

Included

  • Walkthroughs of revenue, purchasing, payroll, and month-end close
  • Sample testing of reconciliations and approval evidence
  • Mapping of control owners and backup coverage
  • Remediation roadmap timed to your fiscal close calendar

Not included

  • Full SOX-style attestation
  • Implementation of new accounting software
  • Ongoing internal audit secondment

How the work proceeds

  1. Document intake

Policy manuals, org charts, and a sample of recent reconciliations arrive before interviews begin.

  2. On-site walkthroughs

We sit with process owners to see how approvals and cut-offs actually work, not only how they are described.

  3. Findings workshop

Finance leadership reviews ranked gaps and agrees which items must clear before year-end fieldwork.

Typical duration: Two to four weeks.

Delivery: Primarily on site at your offices, with a written memo in English.

Preparation: Nominate a single finance contact and grant temporary access to sample vouchers and system reports.

Fee basis: Fixed-fee packages from ¥480,000 depending on process count.
